Parents use these questions to discuss Sunday’s sermon with your children. Feel free to pick and choose the questions that are most helpful (or add your own). Pick a time that works best for your family, maybe around the dinner table, at bed time or on a drive.

Read the passage together: 2 Corinthians 5:14-21

How did the illustration of the ISIS video impact you?  What chance is there of a terrorist coming to faith in Christ?

What do you think is the greatest hindrance to the spread of the gospel?  What did the guest preacher say the greatest hindrance was?

Read 1 Timothy 1:12-16, who is speaking?  How does he describe himself?  Who do we normally think of as our enemies?  Who are our enemies really?

The speaker said we need to redirect our confidence and our fear?  What does that look like in your life?

Do you “worship” the idol of safety in your life?  How does that happen?  What steps could you take to repent of worshiping safety?
