Read the passage together: 1 Corinthians 11:2-16
What was happening in the Corinthian church that Paul addresses in this section? What was the problem specifically?
Was hairstyle or head coverings the main issue or was it something else? What statement were some of the women making by going against the cultural norms of that time?
Read verse 4, how were women participating in the church service?
Pastor Kyle said, “culture changes, heart issues don’t.” What does that mean? How does that apply to us today? What if you wanted to get a tattoo or an ear piercing and your parents said no, how should you respond? Do you dress to please other people or God?
What is the order of “headship” that Paul explains in verse 3? What happens when we push off this headship? What are we really saying when we do this?
What God given authority are you under? Parents, share with your kids the God given authority you are under and if you ever struggle to submit to that authority. Do you ever have thoughts or attitudes that dismiss God given authority?
