Parents use these questions to discuss Sunday’s sermon with your children. Feel free to pick and choose the questions that are most helpful (or add your own). Pick a time that works best for your family, maybe around the dinner table, at bed time or on a drive.

Read the passage together: 1 Corinthians 9:1-27

Paul says he is an apostle. What is an apostle? What three rights does Paul mention?(vs. 4-6)

What right does Paul explain in vs. 7-14. What four reasons does he give to back up that right?

What is Paul's attitude toward his right to be paid for his work in the churches? Why would he give up this right?

Paul mentions the word gospel several times. What is the gospel?

What does it mean to compromise our rights or preferences to reach people for the gospel?

Pastor Kyle said - "Self control is not a burden, an out of control life is burdensome." Discuss where you struggle with self control. What steps could you take this week to help with self control?
